2022年7月5日，备受瞩目的菲尔兹奖（Fields Medal）在芬兰赫尔辛基阿尔托大学举行的国际数学联盟颁奖典礼（IMU Award Ceremony 2022）上揭晓，获奖者为日内瓦大学/法国高等科学研究所教授Hugo Duminil-Copin、美国普林斯顿大学教授June Huh、英国牛津大学教授James Maynard、瑞士洛桑联邦理工学院教授Maryna Viazovska。4名获奖者对数学领域（概率论、代数几何与组合学、解析数论等）做出了重要贡献。

菲尔兹奖于1932年设立，1936年首次颁发，以加拿大数学家约翰 $\cdot$ 查尔斯 $\cdot$ 菲尔兹(John Charles Fields, 1863-1932)的名字命名，有着“数学界的诺贝尔奖”之称，是国际上最重要的数学奖之一，每四年在国际数学家大会上颁发一次，以表彰当下的杰出数学成就和有迹象在未来获得成功的重要成果。获奖者必须是未满40岁的青年数学家。尽管菲尔兹奖表彰的是数学家在职业生涯早期阶段获得的杰出成就，但其也被视为数学家未来发展的一项重要指标。华裔数学家丘成桐和陶哲轩分别于1982年、2006年获奖。

2022年7月6日-14日，2022年国际数学家大会（International Congress of Mathematicians 2022，简称ICM 2022） 将在线上举行，来自全世界的数学家将以这种特殊的形式齐聚一堂、共襄盛举。

每届国际数学家大会都会邀请一些杰出的数学家作报告，这些学者都是学界公认的领袖级人物。本次大会将有约200位数学家受邀作学术报告，其中有14位中国数学家将在大会上分享他们在各自领域取得的成果与进展，这也反映出我国数学家的工作得到了国际学术界的认可和关注。鄂维南院士将作一小时报告，包刚、戴彧虹、丁剑、董彬、刘钢、刘毅、吕琦、单芃、孙斌勇、田野、王国祯、章志飞、朱小华将分别作45分钟报告。报告日程已在网站公布，网址是：https://www.mathunion.org/icm/icm-2022/virtual-icm-2022-program-sections。

国际数学家大会，由国际数学联盟（IMU）主办，每四年举行一次，是全球数学界最高水平的学术会议，素有国际数学“奥运会”之称。首届大会于1897年在瑞士苏黎士举行，至今已有125年的历史，是世界上最古老的科学大会之一。2002年，第24届国际数学家大会在我国北京举行，这也是大会首次在发展中国家举办。

2022年6月27日，第十届国际工业与应用数学大会（10th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics，简称“ICIAM 2023”）注册费标准在其官网公布，大会注册系统预计将于2022年11月份开放。

第十届国际工业与应用数学大会将于2023年8月20-25日在日本东京早稻田大学举行，本次大会由日本工业与应用数学学会（JSIAM）、日本数学会（MSJ）主办，早稻田大学、东京会议与旅游局赞助支持。
