北京大学副校长、中国工业与应用数学学会理事长张平文院士,北京大学副教授、中国工业与应用数学学会副秘书长张磊老师,浙江大学副教授王伟老师在数学领域排名第一的期刊Acta Numerica上发表了前沿文章:Modelling and computation of liquid crystals。
液晶是一种介于液体和晶体之间的软物质。过去四十年液晶的研究取得了巨大的进展,不仅极大地促进了基础科学研究,同时在工业上得到了广泛的应用。论文讨论了液晶三类不同层次的数学模型,从严格数学意义上或形式上建立不同模型之间联系;综述了液晶的计算方法,并列举了各类受限在不同几何区域和条件下向列相液晶的缺陷构型;介绍了近年来提出的解景观方法,给出了受限区域内向列相液晶完整的解景观。论文指出液晶的科学价值不仅在于提出新的数学问题,而且极大促进了新的研究方法,同时对液晶的未来研究提出了一些展望。

北京大学数学科学学院教授,中国科学院院士,发展中国家科学院院士,美国工业与应用数学学会会士。现任北京大学副校长、大数据分析与应用技术国家工程实验室主任、中国工业与应用数学学会理事长。担任学术期刊CSIAM Trans. Appl. Math主编以及十余种国内外期刊的编委。主要从事复杂流体的数学理论和计算方法、大数据分析与应用等方面的研究,曾获国家自然科学二等奖、教育部高等学校自然科学一等奖、国家杰出青年基金资助、冯康科学计算奖等多项荣誉。2011年在第七届国际工业和应用数学大会作大会邀请报告,2014年在美国工业和应用数学年会作大会邀请报告,2018年国际数学家大会45分钟邀请报告人。
- 摘要
2019年11月26日联合国教科文组织第四十届大会上正式宣布的将每年的3月14日定为“国际数学日”。该项目由国际数学联盟(IMU)发起,每年确定一个主题,并号召全球在3月14日围绕主题组织各项活动。在刚刚过去的2022年第三届国际数学日,全球超过90个国家围绕“Mathematics Unites(万物皆数)”主题举办了丰富的庆祝活动。
2023年国际数学日筹备工作已启动。中国数学会现面向全国征集2023年国际数学日主题。如果您有好的想法,请将您心中的主题建议及其理由以邮件形式发送到中国数学会邮箱(cms@math.ac.cn)。经过遴选后,优秀的主题建议将由中国数学会帮您提交到国际数学联盟(IMU)。此次全国征集的截止是2022年5月10日。

由中国工业与应用数学学会(CSIAM)主办,CSIAM区块链专业委员会、北京工业大学联合承办的CSIAM区块链技术与应用高峰论坛(CSIAM-BTAF 2022)将于2022年5月14日-15日在北京工业大学建国饭店举行。会议旨在交流区块链领域各研究方向的最新学术进展及其在工业界和产业界的应用成果,并结合区块链领域急需解决的关键问题和难点问题,展开广泛的学术交流和讨论。
本次峰会是一次全国性的学术会议,学术形式包括大会邀请报告、专题报告、圆桌论坛和学生论坛等。热忱欢迎国内外从事区块链及相关领域研究的同行,踊跃参加本次峰会。

Job Description
The Department of Mathematics in the School of Sciences and Humanities at Nazarbayev University (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan) is seeking a full-time Chair to lead the Department in developing and implementing a comprehensive research vision and teaching excellence. The Chair will be responsible for supporting the Department’s ongoing efforts to increase research outcomes, strengthen the existing degree programs, and improve its international reputation. The Chair will provide leadership toward achieving exemplary teaching, research and service. The Department of Mathematics has a strong undergraduate program, a MSc in Applied Mathematics and an earned PhD program. The Chair will seek synergetic and interdisciplinary teaching and research collaborations with other departments and schools within the university, as well as local and international universities.
The Chair will maintain a teaching and research program commensurate with current University strengths and advance the Mathematics Department’s role as a key player of the School of Sciences and Humanities in Nazarbayev University community. Successful candidates should hold a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Mathematics, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics, and academic experience at the Full Professor rank with demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, service and leadership. Prior experience in administration is desirable. As Chair of the Department, the successful candidate will serve on the School’s Executive Committee and represent the interests of the Department in various school’s academic activities. The Chair is also expected to maintain their own research activities
