This special issue is dedicated to Jing-run Chen's Theorem (1+2) on the Goldbach Conjecture, the proof of which was first published in SCIENCE CHINA Mathematics exactly 50 years ago.

The special issue is edited by Professors Liming Ge, Jianya Liu and Jie Wu. It contains 13 papers reflecting modern developments in Analytic Number Theory. It is a window to the latest achievements and a pathway to more glorious stories after Chen.
