Subject: 2007 Summer School on Adaptive Algorithm
1.Introduction
The summer school aims an introduction to adaptive finite element methods with emphasis on a posteriori energy error analysis and on goal-oriented adaptive mesh-refinement. The audience needs some basic knowledge of partial differential equations, functional analysis, finite elements while the a posteriori error analysis and the design of adaptive algorithms will be introduced during the one week of lectures. The tutorials are designed to give an introduction into the adaptive finite element method and its MATLAB implementation to allow for numerical experiments run by the participants.
This summer school will be held at Institute of Computational Mathematics, CAS.
