A Workshop on Scientific Computing will be held at the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from June 7 to June 8, 2008, to celebrate the 70 th Birthday of Professor Jun-zhi Cui..

The theme of the workshop is all aspects of scientific computing, especially on numerical methods for partial differential equations, parallel computing and high performance algorithms. Recent developments in these areas will be surveyed and future tends will be discussed.

The workshop is organized jointly by the Laboratory of Large Scientific and Engineering Computing (LSEC), the Insitute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing (ICMSEC) of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The workshop will be sponsored by LSEC, ICMSEC and the National Basic Research Program “High Performance Scientific Computation Research”.
