EASIAM 征集学生论文评奖 (EASIAM Student Paper Competition Call for Submission)


The next awards will be presented in the 7th EASIAM Annual Conference to be held in June 27-29, 2011, in Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan.

Principal Guidelines

The EASIAM (East Asia section of Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics) Student Paper Prizes are awarded every year to the student author(s) of the most outstanding paper(s) submitted to the EASIAM Student Paper Competition. This award is based solely on the merit and content of the student's contribution in the submitted paper. The purpose of the Student Paper Prizes is to recognize outstanding scholarship by students in applied mathematics and/or computing. All the students are welcome in regular participation, irrespective of the consequenceof the competition.

Requirements for Submission

To enter the competition, each applicant
must be a student or a recent graduate of a university in East or Southeast Asia; must be yet to defend his/her PhD thesis or must not have attended the oral defense before February 1, 2010; must submit a short vitae including his/her list of publications and the paper. The student's advisor must submit a letter that describes and evaluates the paper's contribution to the literature and the student's role in the publication.

Notification of Prize Winner

The EASIAM will notify the possible candidates of award recipient(s) by mid-April, 2011. To receive the prize each candidate must present his/her prize paper at the EASIAM meeting at Waseda University.

Description of the Award

Each recipient of the EASIAM Student Paper Prize shall receive a certificate and reimbursement of up to US$250 toward travel expenses. Up to four awards will be bestowed.

Deadline of the application: February 1, 2011.
