In this paper, the theory of Nash point equilibria for variational functionals including the following topics: existence in convex and non-convex cases, the applications to P. D. E., and the partial regularity, is studied. In the non-convex case, for a class of functionals, it is shown that the non-trivial solutions of the related systems of Euler equations are exactly the local Nash point equilibria and the trivial solution can not be a Nash point equilibrium.

We study the life span of classical solutions to ◻u = |u|^{1+α} in three space dimensions with initial data t = 0: u = εf(x), u, = εg(x), where f and g have compact support and are not both identically zero, ε is a small parameter. We obtain respectively upper and lower bounds of the same order of magnitude for the life span for sufficiently small ε in case 1 ≤ α ≤ \sqrt{2}. We also proved that the classical solution always blows up even when ε = 1 in the critical case α = \sqrt{2}.

In this paper we prove the existence theorem of the strong solutions to the obstacle problems for second order fully nonlinear elliptic equations with the Neumann boundary conditions F(x, u, Du, D²u) ≥ 0, x ∈ Ω u ≤ g, x ∈ Ω (u - g)F(x, u, Du, D²u) = 0, x ∈ Ω D_vu = φ(x, u), x ∈ ∂Ω where F(x, z, p, r) satisfies the natural structure conditions and is concave with respect to r, p, and φ(x, z) is nondecreasing in z, and g(x) satisfies the consistency condition.

In this paper we consider the well-posedness for a class of nonlinear integrodifferential equations of parabolic type. We use integral estimates to deduce an a priori estimate in the classical space C^{2+α,1+\frac{α}{2}}. The existence of the solution is established by means of the continuity method which is similar to a parabolic initial and boundary value problem. Moreover, the continuous dependence upon the data and the uniqueness of the solution are obtained. Finally, the results are generalized into a class of nonlinear integrodifferential systems.

In this paper, the existence of positive solutions for the mixed boundary problem of quasilinear elliptic equation {-div (|∇u|^{p-2}∇u) = |u|^{p^∗-2}u + f(x, u), \quad u > 0, \quad x ∈ Ω u|_Γ_0 = 0, \frac{∂u}{∂\overrightarrow{n}}|_Γ_1 = 0 is obtained, where Ω is a bounded smooth domain in R^N, ∂Ω = \overrightarrow{Γ}_0 ∪ \overrightarrow{Γ}_1, 2 ≤ p < N, p^∗ = \frac{Np}{N-p}, Γ_0 and Γ_1 are disjoint open subsets of ∂Ω.

We study the behavior of the solution u^ε to the semilinear wave equation with initial data aξ + u_i(i = 1, 2) in multidimensional space, where u_i is a classical function and aξ is smooth and converges to a distribution a_i as ε → 0. In some circumstances one can prove the convergence of u^ε, and our results express a striking superposition principle. The singular part of the solution propagates linearly. The classical part shows the nonlinear effects. And, the limit of the nonlinear solution u^ε, delta wave, as the data become more singular is the sum of the two parts.

A priori estimates for the exterior initial boundary value problems of the Euler equations are considered. The existence and uniqueness of a local solution is proved.
