In this paper, the global existence of a unique smooth solution for the Landau-Lifshitz-Maxwell equations of the ferromagnetic spin chain without dissipation in n (1 ≤ n ≤ 2) dimensions is established by using the viscosity elimination method.

This paper is concerned with the stability of shock profiles for one-dimensional non-convex equations of viscous materials. The main purpose is to show that the shock profile solution is stable in an appropriate weighted norm space for the case of the degenerate shock, provided that the shock is weak and the initial disturbance is small and of integral zero. The proof is given by means of an elementary but technical weighted energy method to the integrated system of the original one. Moreover, the stability result can be applied to the equation of van der Waals fluid and viscoelascity.

This paper deals with the global existence and blow-up of positive solutions to the systems: u_t = ∇(u^∇u) + u¹ + v^a v_t = ∇(v^n∇v) + u^b + v^k in B_R × (0, T) \frac{∂u}{∂η} = u^αv^p, \frac{∂v}{∂η} = u^qv^β on S_R × (0, T) u(x, 0) = u_0(x), v(x, 0} = v_0(x) in B_R We prove that there exists a global classical positive solution if and only if l ≤ l, k ≤ 1, m + α ≤ 1, n + β ≤ 1, pq ≤ (1 - m - α)(1 - n - β),ab ≤ 1, qa ≤ (1 - n - β) and pb ≤ (1 - m - α).

We study in this paper the perturbation of elementary waves with interactions: overtaking of shock waves belonging to the same characteristic family and penetrating of a shock wave and a rarefaction wave belonging to the different characteristic family for 2 × 2 genuinely nonlinear strictly hyperbolic conservation laws. The entropy solutions for the perturbed problems are obtained by the Glimm's scheme.

The existence of globally defined smooth solution to an initial boundary value problem is established. Because of the boundary conditions' effect, vacuum will be developped as time tends to infinity.
