By Browder's pseudo-monotone operator theory and the techniques belonging to J. Leray and J. Lions, the existence theorem of the generalized solution of the Dirichlet problem for a strongly degenerate quasilincar elliptic equation has been proved in the anisotropic Sobolev space.
